Alicia Albuquerque scored a top-two result while
Marlena Vieira notched her first NCAA regional qualifying score to highlight the University of Rochester women's swimming & diving's day one at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational at the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium.

Albuquerque earned UR's lone top-three result of the opening night, finishing second out of a field of more than 50 in the 500-yard freestyle. Albuquerque's 5:10.54 paced the Yellowjackets in the event, as the first-year got Rochester's night started with a second-place finish.

Next up in the 200-yard IM, another first-year led the way for the Yellowjackets, with
Katherine Hegblom finishing fifth with a time of 2:11.11.
Leah Tang joined Hegblom in the top 10 with her eighth-place result, clocking in at 2:17.04, while
Sophia Dmytruk rounded out the top-10 swimmers in a field of 64 finishers, touching the wall in 2:13.74.

Jessica Spahn and
Morgan Edstrom added two more top-10 results for UR in the 50-yard freestyle, with Spahn swimming a new personal best of 24.77, good for seventh, with Edstrom close behind in eighth with a time of 24.84.
Marissa Carlson and
Adele Hellstrom also scored for Rochester, with the duo adding two more top-15 results to the 'Jackets tally. Carlson came in 11th, touching the wall in 24.86 seconds, while Hellstrom scored a 12th-place finish with her 24.89 time.

The Yellowjackets swimmers would round out the opening night with the 200-yard medley relay, with UR's relay team of Tang,
Gloria Ng, Dmytruk, and Spahn finishing fifth, clocking at 1:50.30.

Over in the evening's diving events, Vieira earned her first NCAA regional qualifying score in the one-meter dive, leading the four Yellowjacket competitors with her 399.70 score, a new personal best that was good for 10th overall.

Joining Vieira in the top 10,
Lizzie Budde garnered a 12th-place result with a 385.85 score,
Zuzu Bailey came in 13th (370.40), and
Julia Sides made it four 'Jackets in the top 14 with her 14th-place finish and 347.50 tally.

Through 10 events at the Bomber Invitational, the Yellowjackets sit in third place with 311 points, with the host Bombers leading the way with 449 points. Hamilton College is in second with 350 points, while Middlebury College rounds out the top four teams through one day of action with 273 points.

The Yellowjackets will get day two of the Bomber Invitational started at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 inside the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium.
