University of Rochester women's swimming & diving sophomore
Kaela Springer has officially earned a berth to the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, as announced by the NCAA on Monday.
Â
Springer secured her spot in the NCAA DIII Championships at the NCAA Diving Regional this past weekend at RIT's Judson Pool, winning the three-meter competition to become the first NCAA Regional Diving Champion in program history.
Â
The sophomore scored 461.45 points to take the top spot in the three-meter dive, beating second-place finisher Lydia Benjamin, of SUNY Geneseo, by just over five points to earn the win. Springer also placed seventh in the one-meter on Friday, tallying 408.25 points.
Â
Springer becomes the eighth diver in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships, and the first since Sophie Lever qualified for the 2019-20 Championships. As the 2019-20 Championships were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Springer will also be the first Yellowjacket to compete at the DIII Championships since Danielle Neu in 2014-15.
Â
The 2025-26 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships will take place in Indianapolis, IN, at the IU Natatorium, March 18-21, with the women's one-meter competition scheduled for Thursday, March 19, and the three-meter on Saturday, March 21.
