PITTSFORD, NY – Sophomore jumper Cole Goodman and senior Scott Sikorski capped off memorable 2022-23 seasons by earning All-America accolades by virtue of top-8 results at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at St. John Fisher College on Saturday afternoon.

Goodman placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.24 meters, while Sikorski's run in the 1500 meters saw him end sixth with a time of 3:46.66.

For Goodman, the sophomore earns his second All-America award in three days, as he also secured third place in the long jump on Thursday's opening day of the championship. Overall, the award is Goodman's third this academic year, as he also was national runner-up indoors in the triple jump this winter.

In the triple jump, started out strong with a 15.09 meter leap, ranking second in the field after one jump.

His second attempt was a good one, but the sophomore just couldn't bring his legs under him enough, finishing with a bit of an awkward landing and posting a distance of 14.72 meters.

During the third round, Goodman popped off his best leap of the day, ending at 50 feet exactly to rank fourth after the opening two flights of competitions, easily qualifying for the finals.

In the final round, Goodman fouled on his first attempt before earning a mark of 14.87 on his next jump. Another good leap was nixed by a foul on his last attempt, with one competitor passing him up in the final round to bump the Yellowjacket sophomore back to fifth place.

Goodman took home his second
trophy on Saturday.

During the 1500 meters, Sikorski stayed near the front of the pack the entire race, going out in 44.57 seconds over his first 300 meters.

The next lap saw the senior get wedged a bit of traffic, dropping to sixth after a 1:04.56 split. A 60.74 second third split earned Sikorski a spot in the top-4, but as the field sprinted to the finish, Sikorski came home in 56.77 seconds to finish at 3:46.65 in sixth place.

Sikorski's All-America honor is the second of this academic year for the senior, as he finished the fall in the top-25 at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. It is the third overall of his career, as Sikorski finished third in the 1500 meters at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field competition.

Overall in the team scoring, Rochester compiled 13 points with Goodman's and Sikorki's finishes during the weekend, ranking tied for 18th among 78 schools that scored a point in the competition.

The team finish is the best for the Rochester men's track and field program at the outdoor NCAA Championships since the Yellowjackets finished tied for eighth back in the 1981 season.
