Scott Sikorski and sophomore
Cole Goodman were named United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Americans, as announced by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday.
The Yellowjacket men garnered three USTFCCCA All-America honors, the program's most outdoor All-Americans since 1970, with Goodman taking home All-America status in both the triple and long jump and Sikorski earning All-America recognition in the 1500m.
Goodman opened the championships on Thursday as the 13th seed in the long jump but would finish first in the opening flight and third overall following the final jumps to earn All-America honors. The Guttenberg, NJ native won the opening flight with a 7.34m jump on his second attempt, and the jump held up over the next flight and finals, earning the sophomore third place and his second career All-America honor.
Then on Saturday, Goodman earned a second All-America honor in three days, placing fifth in the triple jump. Jumping in flight two, Goodman landed a 15.09m jump with his first attempt and finished with a 15.24m jump, the fourth-farthest jump of the opening flights, to advance to the final.
There Goodman's jump held up as the sophomore placed fifth with the 15.24m jump to again earn All-America honors.
Sikorski entered the championship seeded fourth in the 22-runner field and finished second in his heat and third overall with a time of 3:47.51 to advance to Saturday's final. There, Sikorski ran a 3:46.66 1500m, breaking the facility record en route to a sixth-place finish and All-America honors for the second-straight outdoor season.
Sikorski ran under 1:00 in two of the four splits, opening the 1500m final with a 44.571 300m split, before finishing the final 400m in 56.778. The senior earns the third All-America honor of his career, and the second this year after the Chicago, IL native finished in the top-25 at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships to earn USTFCCCA Cross Country All-America honors.
