BROCKPORT, NY – After completing half of their scheduled events on Sunday, five University of Rochester track and field athletes completed their multi-event competitions on Monday afternoon at Shriver Stadium at SUNY Brockport with exceptional results that ended in a pair of wins and three top-15 NCAA scores.

In the women's heptathlon competition, senior Ashley Heffernan and sophomore Julia Largett represented the Yellowjackets. On the men's side, senior Aeden Angelone, junior Gabe Thyne and first-year Ashton Tokarski competed in the decathlon.

Heffernan had a banner day, posting two more event wins, in the long jump and 800 meters to end the two-day competition with six first place results out of seven events. She started Monday's action by breaking the Rochester school record in the long jump, posting a mark of 5.78 meters to exceed the previous UR record set by Lonnie Garrett back in 2019 (5.67m). Heffernan's jump is currently fifth best in Division III.

After that, Heffernan placed third in the javelin with a personal-best toss of 27.52 meters and finished off the competition with a win in the 800 meters, crossing the finish in 2:21.39, an outdoor PR.
