Three Receive Liberty League Weekly Awards

A total of three individuals from the University of Rochester were honored as Liberty League Athletes or Rookies of the Week in their respective sports for their athletic accomplishments over the last week.
 
Senior wide receiver/returner Trey Johnson was named the Liberty League Special Teams Performer of the Week in football, while two golfers, senior Gary Pan and first-year Luke Evans were picked as Performer and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
 
Johnson made his one kickoff return count on Saturday, going 95 yards for a touchdown in Rochester's 42-21 gridiron victory over the University of New England. The kickoff return TD was the first for a UR player since 2016 and was the seventh longest ever in Rochester football history. The senior wide receiver added two catches for 19 yards and had one punt return for zero yards in the victory.
 
Pan paced the Yellowjackets during Rochester's runner-up team performance at the Northeast Elite Invitational over the weekend. The UR senior finished in a tie for sixth place overall among 104 golfers, shooting rounds of 68 and 72 to finish with a 2-under par total of 140. Pan led Rochester with seven birdies in the two-day event and was a total of 5-under on the par-5's, seventh best in the field. Pan's opening round of 68 was a career-best. UR as a team finished 2nd of 20 teams overall with a combined score of 573 (+5).
 
Evans also turned in a terrific performance for Rochester, playing as an individual at the Northeast Elite Invitational. The first-year play carded rounds of 70 and 73 to finish with a 143 score, ranking tied for 11th of 104 golfers at the event. His two-day total put him at 1-over par through 36 holes.
