URochester Wins Sixth Straight With Dual-Win at Brockport

BROCKPORT, NY – The University of Rochester women's swimming & diving team remained unbeaten on the season with a 161.5-79.5 win over SUNY Brockport on Friday evening inside Brockport's James B. Fulton Natatorium.
 
The Yellowjackets cruised to the 80-point victory, winning 10 events and tallying 29 top-three results. Ally Mackey was Rochester's lone double-winner on the evening, as the first-year won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.81, and then tied for first in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 59.50.
 
Mackey was joined in the 200 freestyle by Amelia Hardiman (2nd, 2:00.43) and Katelyn Packer (3rd, 2:03.02), while in the 100 butterfly, Addison Powers took third with a time of 59.57 seconds.
 
URochester's 200-medley relay got things started in Brockport, with Powers, Ariana Pasquella, Sophia Dmytruk and Julianne Weaver combining for a 1:51.70 time, good for second place, while Phoebe Hamblet, Sarah Leevan, Izzy Stevenson and Morgan Edstrom took third (1:54.52).
 
Next up, Ava Kaufman was Rochester's first individual winner, taking first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 11:13.96, while Courtney Dietrich finished second in 11:32.10.
 
After Adele Hellstrom earned URochester's top result in the 50 freestyle (2nd, 25.41), Pasquella added the 'Jackets second individual win of the day in the 200 IM, pacing UR with a time of 2:15.70. While Mari Finkelstein took second with a time of 2:20.52.
 
In the three-meter dive, Julia Sides led a trio of top-three finishing 'Jackets with a first-place score of 260.10, while Kaela Springer finished second with a score of 251.95, and Marlena Vieira placed third (240.55).
 
Springer and Sides would flip spots in the one-meter dive, where Springer topped the field, scoring 246.55, while Sides took second (217.00) and Vieira again placed third (209.50).
 
In between the two diving events, Rochester racked up a trio of first-place results and seven top-three finishes. Weaver took the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle (54.88), while Paige Lovelace placed third (56.70).
 
Olivia Dewar took home first in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:01.75, with Marin Ievers in third place with a time of 1:06.09. And in the 500-yard freestyle, Edstrom touched the wall first in 5:31.09, with Rachel Ruminer (2nd, 5:32.05) and Hamblet (3rd, 5:33.82) rounding out the top-three finishers.
 
Leevan scored URochester's final individual win of the day in the 100-yard backstroke, placing first with a time of 1:09.55, with Gino Rubiano right behind her in second place, clocking in at 1:10.59.
 
The Yellowjackets' 200-freestyle relays then wrapped up the dual with second and third-place finishes, with Powers, Edstrom, Hellstrom and Weaver combining for a second-place time of 1:40.70, while Hardiman, Pasquella, Isabel Phillips and Lovelace touched the wall in 1:44.51, good for third.
 
Rochester is back home for its next meet, hosting Grove City College for a dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 22, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Speegle-Wilbraham Center.
