VERONA, NY – The University of Rochester golf team shot lights out over the back nine holes on Sunday afternoon, pulling away for its second straight Liberty League title at the Turning Stone Resort Shenandoah Golf Course.

Rochester's title is the fifth all-time in program history and earns the Yellowjackets a berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament from May 20-23. That event will be hosted by St. John Fisher University and be played in the Rochester area at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, NY and Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor, NY.

Entering Sunday, Rochester held a four-stroke lead over second place Rensselaer, but saw the Engineers trim the lead to just one stroke after the opening nine holes on Sunday.

UR's back nine holes saw Rochester as a team pile up ten birdies to just three bogeys and roar to the finish, ending with a 17-stroke win, as RPI went the other way over the final few holes, shooting 11-over par on its inward nine.
