The University of Rochester golf team continued award season by receiving several more accolades this week, with five individuals being recognized as Division III PING All-Region selections, along with head coach Dan Wesley being named as a finalist for Division III Coach of the Year.
 
Rochester's five golfers competing at this week's NCAA Division III Championships, sophomores Shibo Wang and Arjun Aujla, along with first-year's Luke Evans, Alvin Su and Eddie Ren were the individuals receiving All-Region II awards from PING and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). A total of 15 players from each of the seven regions across Division III were selected as All-Region golfers.
 
In addition, Wesley was one of five coaches to be a finalist for the GCAA's Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips, honoring the top coaches across all levels of collegiate Golf. 2025 is Wesley's first time being a finalist for the National Coach of the Year Award.
 
On the course this season, Wesley guided Rochester to five top-3 team finishes, including earning a second straight Liberty League title and runner-up finish at the UAA Match Play Championship. This year's team turned over nearly an entirely new lineup, with all five of its starting five being either sophomore's or first-year's.
 
Rochester was the top team in Region II all season long and has been a regular in the top-30 across Division III in the 2024-25 campaign. Currently Rochester is 23rd in the latest Scoreboard/Clippd rankings, entering the NCAA Championships this week. Wesley was named Coach of the Year in the Liberty League, UR had the Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and five All-League selections in addition to having multiple All-Region honorees for the ninth straight season.
 
UR's five All-Region selections led the team in terms of rounds played this season, led by Wang, Evans and Su who appeared in all eight stroke play events, recording 19.5 rounds. Su led the Yellowjackets with a 72.62 scoring average, while Wang and Evans were third and fourth on the team, shooting 73.08 and 73.38 strokes per round. Aujla wasn't far behind at 73.48 across his 11.5 rounds and Ren also averaged sub-75 strokes per round, ending at a 74.79 scoring average during the regular season.
 
The Yellowjackets combined to have 41 individual rounds at or below par in 2024-25, with Su and Evans record ten each. Wang had eight and Aujla and Ren combined for nine. In addition, the 2024-25 squad currently has a 291.54 best 4-of-5 scoring average this year and is on pace to smash the Rochester single-season scoring average record.
 
Wang is now a 2-time All-Region honoree from the GCAA, with the other four earning their first All-Region award. 2025's five All-Region awards ranks as the second most in program history, with the Yellowjackets earning six honors following the 2024 season.
 
Rochester closes out its season this week, competing at the NCAA Division III Golf Championships in the Rochester-area, from Tuesday through Friday at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, NY and Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor, NY.
