GENEVA, OH – University of Rochester men's track & field senior
Gabe Thyne wrapped up his time at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at The SPIRE Institute with a 16th-place finish in the decathlon, securing Second-Team All-America honors in the event.
Thyne came into the day 17th in the decathlon with 3,097 points and moved up a spot over the final five events of the day, tallying 2,600 points across the final five events of the decathlon to earn his second-career All-America accolade.
The senior opened the day with a 10th-place result in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking in at 16.03 seconds, before placing 17th in the discus with a 32.35m toss, and 16th in the pole vault with a height of 3.50m
Thyne, who entered the competition seeded 15th, would then finish 19th in the javelin with a 29.73m throw, before moving into 16th place with an 11th-place run in the 1,500 meters to wrap up the decathlon, crossing the finish line in 4:55.99.
Top-seeded Charlie Nolan, of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, took home the decathlon national championship with 7,118 points, 202 points ahead of the second-place finisher, Central's Kale Hobart.
With eight events complete, Wisconsin-Eau Claire leads the men's field with 35 points, one point ahead of second-place Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and four points ahead of Wisconsin-La Crosse in third place.

Cole Goodman and
Jordan Johnson will wrap up Rochester's time at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the final day of competition on Saturday, May 24, with Goodman competing in the triple jump at 11:00 a.m., and Johnson in the hammer throw at 1:45 p.m.
