GENEVA, OH – University of Rochester men's track & field seniors
Cole Goodman and
Jordan Johnson each secured First-Team All-America honors with their performances on Saturday to wrap up the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at The SPIRE Institute.
Goodman got Rochester's day started with the triple jump, notching the eighth First-Team All-America nod of his career. Seeded 13th to begin the event, Goodman topped the first flight with his 15.14m leap on his second attempt and stood in second place after the second flight, advancing to the final.
In the final, Goodman improved upon his jump with a 15.17m leap on his second attempt. But after faulting on his last attempt, the senior saw two competitors best his mark in the final round and finished fourth overall, improving upon his seed by nine spots.
Goodman's 15.17m jump was a season-best mark, and his best leap outdoors since winning the triple jump at the 2024 Outdoor Championships with a school-record 15.76m jump.
Johnson's throw on Saturday was the second
furthest of his career.
Johnson earned his first career First-Team All-America honor, finishing sixth in the hammer throw. The senior came into the competition as the eighth seed, and after a 58.60m throw on his first attempt, jumped into the top five with a 60.90m toss on his second attempt.
That throw would prove to be Johnson's best of the competition, but would be more than enough to advance the senior to the final. After the first two flights, Johnson's 60.90m throw was good for fourth, while in the final, Johnson notched throws of 58.76m and 59.49m before faulting on his last attempt. The senior would wrap up the hammer throw competition in sixth, besting his seed by two spots.
Johnson also becomes UR's first Outdoor All-American in the throwing events since Jason Rizzo scored All-America honors in the discus in 1989.
As a team, the Yellowjackets scored eight points, tied for 30th out of the 78 scoring teams. Wisconsin-La Crosse took home the Division III men's team title with 84 points, while Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Rowan rounded out the top-three team finishers with 56 and 44.5 points each, respectively.
