Three members of the University of Rochester men's track & field, as well as the team as a whole, earned academic praise from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), scoring both All-Academic athlete and team accolades, as announced by the USTFCCCA on Monday.
Graduate student
Mitch Lienert and seniors
Manny Eribo and
Gabe Thyne received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, while the men's track and field team earned Team All-Academic recognition.
To qualify for USTFCCCA NCAA Division III All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester and must either rank in the Top 50 individually in their respective event, or the Top 35 of a relay on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who participated at the 2024-25 Indoor OR 2025 Outdoor National Championships, are eligible.
Eribo and Thyne both were recognized for the second-straight year, while Lienert also scored his second All-Academic honor, with his first coming back in 2022-23.
Thyne ranked in the top 50 in both the heptathlon (#21) and the decathlon (#15) on the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Qualifying lists, competing in both events at the NCAA Division III Championships. Eribo finished 39th in the long jump on the Indoor Qualifying List, while Lienert ranked 30th in the 200 meters indoors.
As a team, Rochester combined for a 3.41 Team GPA to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors for the second-straight year. Programs earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors for having a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.1 on a 4.0 scale.
