University of Rochester tennis coach Matt Nielsen was recognized by the Racquet Sports Professionals Association (RSPA) Eastern as the 2024-25 Eastern College Coach of the Year.
 
This is the second College Coach of the Year honor Nielsen has earned in his career, as he was recognized by the then United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) back in the spring of 2016.
 
In 2024-25, Nielsen guided the Yellowjackets men's and women's tennis teams to a combined 20 victories, with Rochester earning seven All-University Athletic Association awards following the season.
 
The Yellowjackets recently received praise from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for academic excellence, being named a ITA All-Academic Team, and 14 individuals, spanning both programs, earned individual recognition as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
