URochester Women Wrap Up UAA Meet in Seventh Place

CHICAGO – The University of Rochester women's swimming and diving team wrapped up its competition at the 2026 University Athletic Association Championship on Saturday evening, closing out the meet in seventh place after several more solid swims at the Ratner Athletic Center.
 
The top individual finish for the Yellowjackets on day four was from diver Kaela Springer in the 3-meter event. After qualifying 11th in the preliminary, Springer finished up right in that spot following the consolation final with a score of 408.60 points. Teammate Julia Sides ended 13th overall with 371.20 points, while Marlena Vieira also made the consolation final, diving to a score of 354.70 points.
 
First-year Ally Mackey was the top finishing swimmer on Saturday, placing 12th in the 200 butterfly event. Mackey qualified in 16th in the morning prelims, but shaved over two seconds off her time and ended up with a 2:07.37 time to move up four spots and secure the new number three time on the URochester top-10 list.
 
Also in the 200 butterfly, three other swimmers competed in the 'C' final. Addison Powers was 21st overall in 2:11.40 (#10 at URochester). Ava Kaufman was 22nd in 2:13.96 and Isabel Phillips added to the team score with a 24th place finish, touching the wall in 2:15.49.
 
Senior Ariana Pasquella made the 'B' final in the 200 breaststroke and ended up in 14th place overall following a finals swim of 2:22.55. Pasquella's top time of the day was from the prelims, when she swam 2:21.69, qualifying ninth ahead of the finals.
 
URochester's three swimmers in the 1650 freestyle all finished closely packed, ranking 19th, 20th and 21st in the event. Rachel Ruminer was the leader, swimming 18:28.61, wile Katelyn Packer was next in 18:35.21. The third 'Jacket finisher in the mile was Courtney Dietrich who earned an 18:52.98 time.
 
The Yellowjackets other individual scorers on the day included Amelia Hardiman in the 200 backstroke (22nd, 2:07.42) and Lilia Mackenzie in the 3-meter diving (17th, 344.65 points).
 
To close the meet, the URochester 400 freestyle relay team of Morgan Edstrom, Hardiman, Adele Hellstrom and Julianne Weaver ended in seventh with a time of 3:33.13, a top-10 time in the UR record books. The 'B' relay team ended 15th in 3:45.42, with that quartet being Hannah Gentile, Paige Lovelace, Izzy Stevenson and Olivia Dewar.
 
Overall, URochester scored 555.5 team points to rank seventh among the eight teams in the meet. New York University was the team champion, edging out Emory for the title. Both third place UChicago and fourth place WashU also eclipsed 1000 team points in the meet. Carnegie Mellon finished fifth ahead of Case Western Reserve, while Brandeis finished off the team standings.
