University of Rochester men's basketball senior Corvin Oprea was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.
 
Oprea netted 59 points over URochester's two games, scoring a career-high 40 points against Brandeis on Sunday in a Yellowjackets victory. The senior averaged 29.5 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 2.5 APG, and 1.0 SPG, while shooting 20-of-33 overall (.606), 10-for-19 from 3-point range (.526) and 9-for-9 from the free-throw line (1.000).

Oprea's 40-point outburst is just the ninth 40-plus-point performance in URochester program history over the 125 seasons of men's basketball.
