The University of Rochester field hockey program received several academic honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for its efforts in the classroom this past fall, as announced by the NFHCA on Tuesday.

19 Yellowjackets were named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad, two received NFHCA Scholar of Distinction accolades, and the Rochester field hockey team earned NFHCA National Academic Team honors.

First-years Ella Krauss and Rachel Louie were named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction, while seniors Anya Arseneau, Cori Freundlich and Sofia LaFalce, juniors Grayson Honig, Elena Mendoza, Sofia Mianzo and Reiley Murphy, sophomores Kyla Byer, Sophia Cuneo, Erin Foley, Hannah Mehta, Molly Newbold, Alexandra Robillard and Maya Ullrich, and first-years Lucy Pentzer, Erica Rawson and Cassie Ward, in addition to Krauss and Louie, were recognized on the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

1800 undergraduate student-athletes from more than 140 institutions earned 2025 Division III National Academic Squad honors, while 543 student-athletes received recognition as 2025 NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction.

The NFHCA's National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, recognizes undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester and are nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.

The NFHCA's Scholars of Distinction program honors student-athletes who achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2025-26 academic year.

Arseneau and Freundlich earned National Academic Squad distinction for the fourth-consecutive year, while the Yellowjackets had double-digit academic squad honorees for the 11th-straight season, dating back to 2015-16, as well as multiple NFHCA Scholars of Distinction for the sixth-straight year under Head Coach Wendy Andreatta.

As a team, the Yellowjackets were one of just 78 NCAA Division III field hockey teams to qualify for NFHCA National Team Academic honors, bestowed upon programs that have achieved a team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
