University of Rochester men's squash first-years Gilberto Aceves Moreno and Kareem Azzam, and men's track & field first-year Barack Abdallah earned Liberty League weekly honors, as announced by the conference on Monday.
 
In men's squash, Aceves Moreno and Azzam earned Liberty League Performer and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively, while Abdallah received Liberty League Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week accolades.
 
Aceves Moreno won a pair of matches at the number one position as No. 21 URochester posted wins over Hobart and Hamilton on Saturday. The first-year won 11-5, 11-8 and 13-11 over Hobart's Adam Le, and later in the afternoon captured an 11-2, 11-3, 11-1 against Hamilton's Jacob Shulman. The Yellowjackets won the morning match, 9-0, over Hobart, and topped Hamilton, 6-3, later on in the day to improve to 4-5 on the season.
 
Azzam won twice at the number four spot on URochester's ladder in two victories on Saturday. The first-year was a 3-0 winner against Hobart's Peter Vorbach (11-1, 11-4, 11-4) in the morning match, and later on, topped Joseph Applebaum of Hamilton in another sweep (11-7, 11-6, 11-7) to get the Yellowjackets started out strong in the opening wave of the two team wins.
 
Abdallah won two events, one individual and one relay, at the Ithaca College Tri-Meet on Saturday, helping URochester to the team title. Abdallah was first across the finish line in the 200 meters, running a time of 22.81 seconds, and later was a part of the Yellowjackets' 4x400 meter relay that posted a time of 3:23.70, a regional qualifier and the #39 NCAA Division III time this season.
