University of Rochester men's basketball senior guards
Tomiwa Adetosoye and
Corvin Oprea, as well as first-year guard
Jordan Owusu, were selected to the 2025-26 United States Basketball Writers' Association (USBWA) Rochester Area NCAA Division II-III Teams, as announced by the Rochester Chapter of the United USBWA on Tuesday.

Adetosoye and Oprea were both named to the USBWA All-Rochester Area First-Team, while Owusu received Men's Freshman of the Year honors, in addition to being selected Honorable Mention All-Rochester Area.

Adetosoye turned in an impressive senior season with the Yellowjackets, earning Second-Team All-UAA honors for his efforts. The Atlanta, GA native averaged 17.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2.4 steals and 0.8 blocks per contest, leading URochester in assists, steals and blocks.

The senior shot 43.7 percent from the field and 75.3 percent from the line, and ranked in the top 10 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) in nearly every major statistical category. Adetosoye led the UAA in steals, finished third in assists, eighth in the UAA in scoring, ninth in blocks and 18th in rebounding.

Against Rochester-area competition, Adetosoye averaged 20.3 points per game, shooting 46.4 percent from the field, and dished out 23 assists in the 'Jackets' four contests against St. John Fisher, Nazareth, Hobart and RIT, earning both Chuck Resler Tournament and Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout All-Tournament honors for his efforts.

Adetosoye scored a career-high 30 points at RIT on Jan. 6, had 10 games with 20 or more points, and graduates ranked fifth in program history in steals per game and 10th in assists per contest.

Oprea led the 'Jackets in scoring and rebounding as a senior, also earning Second-Team All-UAA honors for his efforts. The Dallas, TX native poured in 446 points, averaging a team-best 17.8 points and 6.2 rebounds to go along with 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals per contest.

One of URochester's top shooters, Oprea shot 43.8 percent from the field, 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 81.7 percent from the free-throw line, and ranked in the top 10 in the UAA in points per game (7th), three-point percentage (6th) and free-throw percentage (5th).

MVP at both the Chuck Resler Tournament and Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout, Oprea had four 30+ point outbursts, tallying 30 against Nazareth in the Crosstown Shootout on Nov. 22, as well as a career-high 40 in a win over Brandeis on Feb. 15, becoming just the sixth player in program history with a 40+ point game.

In Rochester's four games against area competition, Oprea shot 42.0 percent and 82.1 percent from the free-throw line, averaging 18.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

The UAA Rookie of the Year, Owusu added another Rookie of the Year honor after putting together one of the best first-year campaigns in program history. The Burlington, NJ native averaged 11.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks per contest, shooting 46.0 percent (110-for-239) from the floor, 43.5 percent (40-for-92) from three and 82.6 percent (38-for-46) from the charity stripe.

Owusu's scoring average of 11.9 ppg and 298 total points rank as the sixth-best rookie campaign in program history, and the most over the last 25 seasons. The first-year also ranked top-20 in the UAA in steals (12th), blocked shots (15th) and scoring (18th), and hit double figures in 16 games.

Against local competition, Owusu averaged 10.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and adding eight assists and seven blocks in the 'Jackets' four games against Rochester-area foes.

The USBWA Rochester area is made up of nine local Division II and III schools: Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Keuka College, Roberts Wesleyan, RIT, the University of Rochester, Nazareth University, St. John Fisher University, SUNY Brockport and SUNY Geneseo.
