Men’s Hoops Grabs Three All-UAA Honors, Owusu is Top Rookie

The University of Rochester men's basketball concluded its 2025-26 season by earning three player awards from the University Athletic Association, two Second Team All-Association honors while also securing the conference's Rookie of the Year award.
 
First-year Jordan Owusu was voted as the UAA Rookie of the Year, URochester's second Rookie of the Year honoree in the last three seasons, while seniors Corvin Oprea and Tomiwa Adetosoye were both picked as Second Team All-Conference.
 
Adetosoye earns his second career All-UAA honor, as he was an Honorable Mention pick back in 2023-24, while Oprea and Owusu net their first conference awards.
 
In 2025-26, the Yellowjackets ended with an 11-14 record overall, earning a 4-10 mark in UAA play, facing a top-15 toughest schedule in Division III. This season, the team established a new single-season scoring record, averaging 82.3 points per game, breaking the previous record set by the 1963-64 team.
 
Jordan OwusuRookie of the Year
Jordan Owusu (FY, G, #6, Burlington, NJ/Pennington) – First All-UAA award; Owusu had one of the best rookie seasons in URochester men's basketball history, averaging 11.9 points per game, securing 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting a team-best 43.5 percent from 3-point range, making 40 of 92 attempts from distance. Owusu played in all 25 games this season, making 15 starts. Overall, his 11.9 points per game average and 298 total points are the sixth-best in team history by a first-year player, and most since over the last 25 seasons. Owusu also ranked 18th in the UAA in scoring, was 12th in steals (1.24/game) and 15th in blocked shots (0.64/game). The first-year hit 10 or more points in 16 games, including in 11 of 14 UAA conference games. His season-high was a 23-point performance in a win over Ithaca back in December.
 
Tomiwa Adetosoye2nd Team
Tomiwa Adetosoye (SR, G, #8, Atlanta, GA/Chattahoochee) – Second All-UAA award (2023-24 H.M.); Adetosoye had a terrific all-around campaign for the Yellowjackets, averaging 17.5 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game, 4.9 assists per game and 2.4 steals per game. Adetosoye shot 43.7 percent from the field and was over 75 percent from the charity stripe, making a career-best 140-186 free throws. His numbers established career-high's in nearly every statistical category, while ranking highly in the UAA conference in scoring (8th), rebounding (18th), free throw shooting (9th), assists (3rd), steals (1st), blocks (9th, 0.84/game) and assist/turnover ratio (5th, 2.12). Adetosoye started all 25 games for the 'Jackets and had ten games with 20 or more points. That included a career-high 30 points at RIT in January. The senior ends his career ranked fifth all-time in team history in steals per game (1.8) and tenth in assists average (3.7), while this season's steals total was third best in a single-season. Adetosoye was selected to a pair of All-Tournament teams this year, earning honors at the UR Chuck Resler Tournament and Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout.
 
Corvin OpreaCorvin Oprea (SR, G, #5, Dallas, TX/St. Mark's School of Texas) – First All-UAA award; Oprea was a sharpshooter for the Yellowjackets to close out his career, leading the team in scoring with 17.8 points per game across 25 starts. The guard added a team-best 6.2 rebounds per contest and made a team-high 64 3-pointers on the season. Oprea added 1.8 assists per game, 1.0 steals per contest and shot 81.7 percent from the free throw line, hitting 94-of-115 attempts. Within the UAA, Oprea finished seventh in points per game, 14th in rebounding, sixth in 3-point percentage (36.6) and fifth in free throw percentage. His best game was a career-high 40-point outburst in a win over Brandeis on February 15, and in doing so, he became just the sixth player overall in the 125-year history of men's basketball at Rochester to hit accomplish that feat. Oprea ends his career ninth in program-history in free throw shooting (82.0 percent) and 16th in 3-pointer's made (133). This year, he was a 2-time UAA Athlete of the Week and earned D3hoops.com Team of the Week accolades back in November. Oprea was tournament MVP at both the UR Chuck Resler Tournament and Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout.
