NEW YORK, NY – The University of Rochester men's track and field team tied for 10th place with 18 team points, wrapping up the final day of the 2025-26 All-Atlantic Region Indoor Track & Field Championships with four more scoring results.
Liam Sakakeeny and
Jacob Bernd both earned top-eight results in the mile, and both set new personal-best times. Sakakeeny came in third place with a time of 4:14.57, while Bernd came in eighth place, clocking in at 4:15.88.
URochester's 4x200-meter relay also earned a top-eight result, coming in seventh, as
Barack Abdallah,
Evan Bryant,
Elijah VanHoover and
Aadit Jain combined for a time of 1:29.94.
Jain also competed in the high jump, tying for 10th place with a height of 1.91m.
Ashton Tokarski wrapped up an impressive personal best in the heptathlon, setting a new personal-best score with 4,755 points, good for third place in the event, 371 points shy of first. Tokarski got his second day started with a seventh-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (9.29s), before earning top-five results in both the pole vault (4th, 3.90m) and 1,000 meters (5th, 2:53.10), hitting a new PR in the pole vault.
Also in the heptathlon,
Quillan Shimp ended the seven-event competition with a first-place finish in the 1,000 meters (2:41.28) to finish ninth overall with 4,188 points. Shimp also came in fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.87 seconds, and eighth in the pole vault with a height of 3.40m.
Elsewhere in the field events,
Armaan Butler and
Ethan Kaufman both competed in the weight throw, with Butler earning a 15th-place result with his 16.05m toss, while Kaufman took 20th with a throw of 15.44m.
In the triple jump,
Austin Lansey came in 15th with a 13.75m jump. While back on the track in the 800 meters,
Owen Bernstein was Rochester's top finisher with a 14th-place time of 1:56.16.
Overall, Rowan took the top spot with 118 points, with SUNY Geneseo (69 points) and Ursinus (38 points) rounding out the top-three teams in the 46-team field.
Select Yellowjackets will next head to Birmingham, AL, to compete at the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, March 13-14, with qualifying athletes to be announced on Sunday, March 8.
