Six Yellowjackets from the University of Rochester men's golf, men's and women's track and field, softball and women's lacrosse teams earned weekly praise from the Liberty League, as announced by the conference on Monday.
Men's golf sophomore

Lauren Murphy were named the Liberty League Men's and Women's Track & Field Rookies of the Week, respectively. In softball, senior
Jensen Sminchak received Softball Performer of the Week honors, while women's lacrosse senior
Alyssa Gorny scored Women's Lacrosse Performer of the Week accolades.
Gorny notched all three game-winning goals as the Yellowjackets went 3-0 this week to improve to 11-4 overall on the season and 7-2 in conference play. The senior scored 11 goals and had 6 assists in the week, adding in 17 draw controls, 9 ground balls and 7 caused turnovers. She had 18 total shot attempts. The senior had 5 goals and 2 assists at Utica on Tuesday, had 5 goals and 3 assists against Skidmore on Friday, and scored 1 goal, the game-winner in the final two minutes, against RPI on Saturday. During the week, Gorny continued to set records for URochester, setting the career draw controls and game-winning goals records, while tying the single-season points record.
Sminchak had a huge week at the plate for the Yellowjackets, going 12-for-22 (.545) across six games played, all URochester wins. The junior added 9 runs scored, 1 triple, 1 home run, and a team-best 13 RBI during the stretch. She added 3 stolen bases, 3 walks (.577 OBP), and slugged .773 during the week. Sminchak had multiple hits in four games, multiple runs and RBI's twice, including smacking a grand slam and recording a career-high 6 RBI in a win at Skidmore on Friday.
Su was the tournament medalist (of 35 golfers) at the annual UR Fred Kravetz Invitational at Locust Hill CC and Oak Hill CC on Friday and Saturday. The sophomore recorded scores of 70 (2-under) and 69 (1-under) to set a tournament record 139 score for the 36 holes. As a team, URochester tied for first place with John Carroll, shooting a team score of 569 for the event, also a tournament record, with the 'Jackets' round two team score of 277 establishing an event single-round team record. Su tied for the tournament lead with 27 pars, also recording six birdies (T-6th) in the event.
Abdallah competed in three events at the UR Alumni Invitational on Sunday, coming away with a win and two other top-5 finishes. The rookie sprinter won the 100 meters in a time of 10.92 seconds, hitting the AARTFC standard in the process, defeating 17 other competitors. Abdallah also placed fourth in the 4x400 meter relay (3:31.71) and was fifth individually in the 200 meters (22.76 seconds) at the meet.
Murphy captured first place in the triple jump, her lone event, at the UR Alumni Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Yellowjackets' rookie jumped 11.85 meters, qualifying for regionals with that distance, which ended up winning by over a full meter. That distance, in cold and rainy conditions, would rank #3 in the conference this season (behind her own top mark) and top-15 in Division III.
Palm secured a top-10 result at the UR Fred Kravetz Invitational over the weekend, competing at Locust Hill CC and Oak Hill CC for the Yellowjackets. The rookie finished tied for 9th of 35 golfers, recording rounds of 73 (1-over) and 72 (2-over) on the weekend. His scores helped the Yellowjackets end tied for 1st of six teams at the event, setting a tournament record for low single-round team score (277 on day two), and tying for the tournament record for overall team score (569). Palm's seven birdies over the event ranked tied for second in the tournament.
