HENRIETTA, NY – Junior Aimee Oszer had a banner day in the throwing events, leading the University of Rochester women's track and field team at the RIT Bill Q Invitational on Friday afternoon at the RIT Track & Field Complex.

Oszer ended up setting two new University records, and in the process, recording a pair of event wins and now sits with two top-40 marks on the Division III performance list. The junior captured first place in the shot put, with a mark of 13.13 meters, the #32 distance in Division III and added a win in the discus, posting a distance of 45.27 meters, ranking 13th in Division III this season.

Her shot put mark breaks the previous record of 12.76 meters set by Yaneve Fonge back in the 2011 season. The previous discus record was set just last year by Oszer's teammate Cora Rose, with the old record being 44.06 meters.

On Friday, junior Madison Vargas also eclipsed the old discus record, but had to settle for second place in the event, and in the record book, with her mark of 44.76 meters. Vargas also won the hammer throw with a distance of 47.74 meters and was fourth in the shot put at 11.79 meters. Vargas' discus is ranked #16 on the Division III performance list.

Junior Nora Chen was a triple-winner on the track for the Yellowjackets, capturing first place in the 100 meter hurdles and on both the 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter relays. Chen's individual win saw her run a personal-best time of 14.56 seconds in the hurdles, an AARTFC time and #28 time in Division III.

The two relays also were regional qualifiers. The opening 4x100 meter relay featured Maya Hatch, Lizzie Merrill and Raquella Casserino, with Chen anchoring. The group finished in 48.35 seconds to earn the win.

URochester's 4x400 meter relay group now ranks eighth in Division III this season, with the team of Casserino, Chen, Lauren Murphy and Eva Ciuffetelli, finishing in a time of 3:48.63.
