Three members of the University of Rochester men's swimming and diving team have been honored by the Colloege Sports Communicators (CSC) as Academic All-District® selections for the 2025-26 season, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Earning the recognition were juniors Nate Attwell and Max Wozinski along with sophomore Connor Kann.

The 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Men's Swimming and Diving Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must have competed in at least 75 percent of an institution's competitions, finish top-8 at the conference championship or compete at an national championship meet.

Attwell appeared in all nine meets for the Yellowjackets this season and appeared in seven events at the University Athletic Association championships in February. The junior was on three of URochester's top relay teams, coming in seventh place in the 200 medley relay, 400 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay, all of which are now top-3 time all-time in school history. Individually, Atwell placed 25th in the 500 freestyle at UAA's in a personal-best 4:41.60 ranking seventh in school history. He also is top-10 at URochester in the 200 freestyle following his personal-best performace of 1:43.17, ranking 32nd in the field.

In the classroom, Attwell is studying Biochemistry as his major, while minoring in Physics. He works as a grader in a Biochemistry Lab and Critical Analysis class and plans on pursuing an internship this summer in the non-viral delivery technologies division at Regeneron. That follows a research internship at the New York State Psychiatric Institute last summer. Additionally, Attwell is a two-time UAA All-Academic and two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree. At URochester, he received the Suzanne O'Brien Book Award and was named a Provost Circle Scholar.

Kann has been one of UR's most successful swimmers over the past few seasons, currently being a part of the school record 800 freestyle relay, set back in February of 2025. This season, he competed in eight competitions and achieved four top-2 results in dual meets. At the UAA Championships, Kann swam a seasons-best time in both the 50 and 200 freestyle events while setting a personal-best in the 100 freestyle (46.92 seconds) during the leadoff leg of the 400 freestyle relay. Overall, he placed seventh on four relay squads at UAA's.

Double-majoring in Economics and Health Policy, Kann is involved in Alpha Kappa Psi as the VP of Membership and University's Consulting Club, also serving as Vice President of that organization. He has completed research with Gerald Gamm in the Political Science department and earns his first CSC honor this semester, coupling that with his first UAA All-Academic award. Kann's volunteer exploits include spending time as a cook and cleaner at the Ronald McDonald House and assisting in the cleanup of the Genesee River Trailway.

Wozinski, a diver for the Yellowjackets, competed eight times for URochester this season and finished in the top-3 on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards during six dual meets in 2025-26. That included a win on the 3-meter board against Fredonia and Alfred on November 8. At the two championship meets this season, Wozinski was fourth in both diving events at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational and closed his junior year with 12th place results on both boards at the UAA Championships.

Academically, Wozinski is majoring in Chemical Engineering at the University. He has received the Dean's Scholarship from URochester and is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He is a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree and has earned a pair of All-Academic honors from the UAA. Max also completed an internship for Aquestive Therapeutics, working on permeation enhancers and plans on continuing his education at URochester, working towards a masters in Chemical Engineering.

Academic All-District selections will be evaluated by a sub-committee and advanced to the national, All-America ballot, to be voted on by CSC members within their respective divisions.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women's swimming and diving honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
