VICTOR, NY – For the 18th time, the University of Rochester Department of Athletics and Recreation hosted the annual Friends of Rochester Athletics Golf Classic, with the event taking place on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, NY.
 
23 groups took part in the competition on a terrific, albeit a bit windy, afternoon, with the format for the event being a four-man scramble.
 
Only one team broke 60 in their final score on the afternoon, with the group of Ethan Rice, Kyle Pooler, Brandon Wyand and Jordan Dianetti scoring 58 (14-under) across the course.
 
Four other teams shot 10-under or better for a tight competition across the leaderboard. The group of Scott Smith, Zach Vankuren, Ryan Stelik and Ted Smith finished in second place at 12-under, 60.
 
In a tie for third at 11-under (61) were the groups consisting of Joe Reina, Brian Bezek, Steve Gutch and Eric Rozen along with Scott Sabocheck, Nick Sabocheck III, Josh Curtiss and Jason Siwinski. The Reina group secured the tiebreak to claim the third-place prize.
 
Wrapping up the top-5 were Tamra O'Donnell, Chris Keys, Josh Maxwell and Andrew Bolton who ended at 62 (10-under).
 
Additionally, Tournament Director Dan Wesley set up a putting challenge that produced a record seven winners (Sean Malcho, Kristine Shanley, Isaac Standish, Joe Wesley, Joe Reina, Corey King, Ryan Stelik), with four additional prizes being awarded to men's and women's long drive and closest to the pin.
 
Those long drive and closest to the pin winners each were awarded brand new putters, courtesy of Kelly and Co. Golf, led by URochester Alum David Kelly. Those winners were Jake Shattuck (men's long drive), Mary Cook (women's long drive), Ryan Foreman (men's closest to pin) and Lynne Blanchard (women's closest to pin).
 
The University of Rochester athletic department would also like to shout-out he sponsors that support this annual event which provide key assistance to the athletics annual fund in support of all 23 of the varsity programs at the University.
