Stefanski Named Swimming & Diving Coach

Eric Stefanski has been named the interim head men's and women's swimming coach at the University of Rochester. His appointment was announced today by George VanderZwaag, the University's Director of Athletics.

Stefanski just completed one season as the assistant coach for both sports at the University.

He was a competitive swimmer for 18 years, having competed in the 1992 and 1993 U.S. Opens, the 1994 U.S. Olympic Festival, the 1997 Fina World Cup, and the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials. Stefanski competed in the 1997 NCAA Division I National Championships for the University of Pittsburgh and has competed at the USA Swimming National Championships every year from 1993-2000.

Stefanski holds a baccalureate degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a masters degree in sport psychology from Georgia Southern University.

Rochester is a member of both the University Athletic Association and the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association. The Yellowjackets hosted the UCAA Championships in 2002-03 where the women's team finished second and the men's team was fifth.
