ATLANTA, GA – Day two of the 2025 University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by Emory University, inside the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center, saw the University of Rochester men's swimming & team program shatter their second school record in as many days, as the 'Jackets broke the 400-yard medley relay record for the second time this season.

UR's 'A' relay of Max McClung, Brian Wong, Noah Falkenhagen and Michael Scholz bested the previous high set earlier this season at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational by a full second, clocking in at 3:23.32 in the 400-yard medley A-Final to wrap up the evening's festivities. The quartet's time was good for seventh overall, while the Yellowjackets' 'B' relay of Venden Berge, Jack Zapp, Eli Muldoon and Connor Kann finished 14th in the B-final with a time of 3:30.17.

The Yellowjackets got the day two finals started with the 200-yard freestyle relay, with UR's 'A' relay of Ben Friedberg, Kann, Falkenhagen and Scholz placing seventh with the fourth-fastest 200-free relay time in program history, 1:24.75, while Rochester's 'B' relay of Jeremy Mah, Ian Curd, Tosan Obatoyinbo and Falkenhagen combined for a 1:28.20 time and 15th-place result in the B-final.

UR's lone individual qualifier from the morning's prelims, Bryce Berkhof, then placed 23rd in the 'C' final of the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 4:39.66.

Berkhof led a trio of 'Jackets in the 500-yard freestyle prelims earlier in the day, tying for 17th to qualify for the evening's 'C' Final. Berkhof's time of 4:36.83 was not only a new personal best but also ranks third on UR Men's Swimming's Top-10 Performances list.

Joining Berkhof in the top 40 were Nate Attwell and Johnathan Wu, who placed 32nd and 36th, respectively, with times of 4:44.90 and 5:00.22. Attwell's time was also a personal best and ranks 10th on the Yellowjackets' performance list.

Next up in the prelims, Zapp was Rochester's top finisher in the 200-yard IM, finishing 33rd, improving on his season-best time with a 1:55.06 mark, second on UR's performance list.

A trio of Yellowjackets then wrapped up the morning's prelims with top-40 results in the 50-yard freestyle, as Ben Friedberg tied for 35th, Michael Scholz placed 39th and Connor Kann finished 40th.

Friedberg clocked in at 21.32 seconds to lead the trio, while Scholz swam a 21.45-second 50-yard freestyle time and Kann set a new personal best with his 21.55-second mark.

Through 14 events, the Yellowjackets as a team sit in seventh place overall with 245 points, trailing sixth-place Case Western Reserve by 87 points. Emory sits atop the podium through two days of competition with 575.5 points, with Chicago in second place with 568.5 points, and NYU in third at 568 points.

Rochester will be back in the pool in Atlanta for day three of the 2025 UAA Championships on Friday, Feb. 14, beginning with the prelims at 10:00 a.m.
