ATLANTA – Six Rochester individual swimmers plus 12 relay competitors took part in the finals of the third day of the University Athletic Association swimming and diving championships at Emory University.
 
Rochester qualified four finalists in the 100 backstroke: Chris Bushnell (18th, :52.45), Jeremy Mah (19th, :52.70), Sidney Miller (23rd, :54.43), Brandon Kim (24th, :54.70). Alexander Cho qualified in the B final of the 100 breaststroke after getting to the wall in :57.16 (16th) in Friday trials. Trevor Hoch came within half a second of tying the school record in the 100 fly. He finished 23rd overall in :51.09 and was 23rd. He was a C finalist. The men's UR record for the 100 fly is :50.54.
 
Twelve others took part in the two 200 Medley Relay teams and the 800 Freestyle Relay team. Thej 200 Medley A Relay was timed in 1:37.66 (Brandon Kim, Alexander Cho, Edward Domanico, Will Murray). The B relay was timed in 1:40.54, 15th overall (Kyle Sullivan, Arpeet Debhae, Frank Li, Bryce Berkhof). The 800 Free Relay did not have a preliminary swim.
 
Finals Results:
200 Medley Relay: (A) – Finished eighth in 1:33.54, less than a second off the school record of 1:32.74 (Chris Bushnell, Alexander Cho, Sidney Miller, Trevor Hoch. (B) – Finished 15th in 1:37.55 (Jeremy Mah, Arpeet Dabhade, Edward Domanico, Grant Yap).
 
800 Free Relay: (B) – Finished 15th in 7:14.04 (Frank Li, Johnny Wu, Sean Finnerty, Edward Domanico).
 
100 Fly: Trevor Hoch finished in 24th place (:51.42). 100 Breaststroke: alexander Cho finished 13th in :57.15, up three spots from his prelim time. 100 Backstroke: Chris Bushnell, 19th (:52.64), Jeremy Mah, 21st (:52.99), Brandon Kim, 23rd (:54.07), Sidney Miller, 24th (:54.93).
 
With 26 combined events complete, the Rochester women are in seventh place with 329 points and the men are in seventh place with 330 points
