The University of Rochester squash team won its fifth straight match on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Dartmouth College 7-2 at the Lyman Squash Center.

It was a matchup of evenly ranked teams in the College Squash Associations latest team rankings, released earlier on Tuesday. Rochester entered the match at #10 in the nation, while Dartmouth was #11.

The win pushes Rochester's record to 6-5 on the season while Dartmouth falls to 4-9 overall with the regular season winding down. Rochester has two matches remaining on its schedule, playing at Columbia and at Yale this weekend. Dartmouth finishes its regular season against Brown on Saturday.

Tuesday's match saw Dartmouth race out to the early lead behind a 3-0 win from David Rubin at #9 over UR's
Quinlan Jeudy. At #2,
Yash Fadte responded with his own 3-0 win for Rochester, defeating Jack Bell 11-3, 11-3 and 11-3.

The first wave finishes 2-1 in favor of Rochester after first-year
Omar Zakaria won at #5 over Christian Shah 11-6, 11-8, 12-14 and 11-3.

Cesar Segundo, Rochester's lone senior playing in his final home match, pushed the Yellowjacket lead to 3-1 after a strong win at the #1 spot against James Bell. Segundo rattled off wins of 11-6, 11-3 and 11-4 to extend the Yellowjacket advantage.

Dartmouth got that point right back though with a win at #8 when Quintin Campbell toppled
Alejandro Porras in three games (13-11, 11-4, 11-6).

At #6,
Jake Koeppel was locked in an evenly matched affair with Lucan White, with Rochester's first-year player coming away with a 3-0 victory. Koeppel won the first set easily 11-3, but needed extra points (13-11 and 14-12) in the next two to complete the sweep and put Rochester up 4-2 after two waves.

All three matches in the final wave went to the Yellowjackets.
Abdelrahman Lasheen won the clinching point with his 11-7, 11-7, 11-9 win at #3 over Sam Supattapone, making the score 5-2 UR.

The final two matches on court both went the full five games.

At #7,
Emilio Carrillo raced out to a 2-0 lead with 11-4 and 11-6 wins over Tucker Martino. Martino battled back with 11-9 and 11-8 wins to force the tiebreaking fifth game. After going ahead 7-5 in the fifth, Carrillo saw Martino score five of the next six points to earn two match balls up 10-8. Carrillo fought off those points and eventually rallied for the 13-11 fifth set win.

Luis Moncada earned his five set win over Mac Aube at #4. After Aube earned an 11-5 win to open play, Moncada responded with 12-10 and 11-9 wins to edge ahead. Battling back, Aube took the fourth 11-8. In the fifth, Moncada gutted out an 11-7 win to reach the final score of 7-2 in favor of the Yellowjackets.
