GENESEO, NY – Rochester's women had multiple regional qualifying performances for the Atlantic Regionals on Saturday afternoon at the SUNY Geneseo Early Season Invitational. Those performances included a Top 5 in Division III in the pole vault by Madeline O'Connell. She cleared 3.75 m. in the pole vault to win the event. Ashley Heffernan cleared 3.50 m. to finish third. Both women qualified for the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Championships scheduled for Moravian College in mid-May.

The Yellowjackets took the top two spots in the discus throw and both met the qualifying standard. Gillian Reeder won the event (39.04 m.) with Cora Rose second (38.42 m). On Sunday, Reeder also posted an AAR mark in the hammer throw, tossing 44.18 meters to finish in fourth place.

Among the runners, Susan Bansbach had a first and a runnerup performance. She won the 800 meters in 2:16.65, booking a spot at regionals. Kristin Hardy joined her, finishing third in the 800 with a 2:20.07. Megan Bell was sixth for Rochester (2:21.63). Bansbach posted a qualifying time of :25.31 to take second place in the 200 meter run. O'Connell was third in :25.34, and Hardy was clocked in :26.18. Heffernan and Eileen Bequette finished 6-7 in the trials of the 100 hurdles (Heffernan :15.63,  qualifying time; Bequette :16.25). That put them into the finals of the 100 hurdles where Heffernan ran a :15.87 (fourth place) and Bequette was timed in :16.26 (sixth place).
