The University of Rochester women's soccer will open its first season under Head Coach Ashley Van Vechten at SUNY Geneseo on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 3:30 p.m.
 
Van Vechten `08 was named the Yellowjackets' Head Women's Soccer Coach in Dec. 2021, returning to the River Campus as one of the most decorated players in women's soccer program history.
 
A three-time All-American, Van Vechten takes over a program coming off a 6-5-5 (0-3-4 UAA) campaign and will be joined on the sidelines this season by Lauren Pien and Justin Miles.
 
The Yellowjackets' season opener against the Knights kicks off a three-game road stretch for Rochester, culminating with a mid-week, non-conference matchup at SUNY Brockport on Sept. 7. In-between, the Yellowjackets head to Cortland, N.Y. for a battle with the Red Dragons on Saturday, Sept. 3.
 
Rochester's home opener is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10 at noon against Alfred University at Edwin Fauver Stadium.
 
After a quick trip to Pittsford, N.Y. to take on St. John Fisher University on Wednesday, Sept. 14, the Yellowjackets are back home for a pair, hosting William Smith College on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 5 p.m., and Keuka College on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.
 
Next up, Rochester heads to the Keystone State for the first time in 2022 for a Saturday morning clash against York College of Pennsylvania on Sept. 24 at 11 a.m.
 
The Yellowjackets return home for a Tuesday matinee against Houghton on Sept. 27 at 4 p.m., before opening University Athletic Association (UAA) play against the University of Chicago Maroons on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1:30 p.m.
 
On Sunday, Oct. 9, Rochester hits the road for the first time in conference play, heading to St. Louis, Mo. for a 1:30 p.m. CST matchup against Washington University in St. Louis.
 
Rochester then returns home for its longest homestand of the season, hosting UAA foes Brandeis and NYU on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1:30 p.m., respectively, before wrapping up the three-home home stretch with their home finale against Cazenovia on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.
 
The Yellowjackets then make the trip to the Buckeye State, wrapping up their season with three-straight UAA foes.
 
On Friday, Oct. 28, Rochester visits Cleveland, Ohio to face Case Western Reserve, and wraps up the weekend versus Carnegie Mellon on Sunday, Oct. 30 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
 
Rochester then wraps up the 2022 regular season on Saturday, Nov. 5 in Atlanta, Ga., against Emory University at 1:30 p.m.
 
Should the Yellowjackets reach it, the first round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament is slated for Saturday, Nov. 12.
