Three members of the University of Rochester women's soccer team, junior
Eileen Harvey and sophomores
Hannah Nagashima and
Natalie Santangelo, were honored on Tuesday as United Soccer Coaches Division III All-Region III selections.
Harvey, a defender, was named a First Team All-Region pick, while Nagashima, a midfielder, and Santangelo, a forward, were both Second Team selections. All three earn their first All-Region awards from the United Soccer Coaches. Both Harvey and Nagashima were All-Association recipients from the University Athletic Association in 2025, while Santangelo earned All-Conference recognition last year.
The trio helped Rochester to a 9-4-6 record overall in the 2025 campaign, with the 'Jackets posting a 2-3-2 mark in UAA play. Rochester squared off with a school-record 11 nationally-ranked opponents and earned a result (win or draw) in seven of those contests. The Yellowjackets earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third year in a row and reached at least the second round for the third straight season.
Harvey was the anchor of the Yellowjackets back line, holding down the center back position on defense all season long. She played and started all 17 regular season games and helped URochester to post a 0.89 goals against average, surrendering just 17 goals in 19 games, a mark that included ten total shutouts. Harvey played 1,435 minutes this season and finished with one goal, coming in a win over Empire-8 Champion St. John Fisher on September 16. The junior chipped in three total shot attempts on the year, but made her mark with her play on the defensive end.
Nagashima was a playmaker in the midfield for URochester in 2025, finishing as the teams leading scorer with 12 points, coming on four goals and four assists. The sophomore appeared in all 19 games, making ten starts, and logged over 1,000 minutes of playing time. She had two game-winning goals, coming against #13 Brandeis and #3 Chicago, and also found the back-of-the-net against Nazareth and #12 Middlebury during the NCAA Division III Tournament second round match. Nagashima also tied for the team-lead with four assists, with those helpers coming in back-to-back 2-assist games against Nazareth and St. John Fisher.
Santangelo had another solid season, patrolling the forward position for Rochester. The sophomore was one of five members of the squad to start all 19 games and finished with ten points on three goals and four assists over 1,176 minutes on the pitch. She led the 'Jackets with 37 shot attempts and 18 shots on goal and was 1-for-2 from the penalty kick spot. Santangelo had a solid game in the season-opener against SUNY Cortland, providing the game-winning goal and also chipping in an assist. The sophomore also scored against #24 RIT and #4 Case Western Reserve during the middle of the season and added assists over the next few weekends against #25 NYU and #13 Brandeis, helping the 'Jackets to results in both of those contests.
