UR Finishes 1-2-3 in 200m at Nazareth College Conference Tune-Up

PITTSFORD, NY – Susan Bansbach, Kate Isaac and Megan Bell claimed all three podium spots in the 200 meters, leading the way for the University of Rochester women's track and field on Friday evening at the Nazareth College Conference Tune-Up at the Golisano Training Center.
 
The 'Jackets recorded nine Top-5 and five Top-3 finishes, led by Bansbach, Isaac and Bell claiming first, second and third in the 200 meters. Bansbach led all three runners with a time of 25.63, with Isaac finishing second at 26.18 and Bell coming in third with a personal-best time of 26.60, all three of which earned regional-qualifying status.
 
Bansbach also improved upon her spot on the 200m indoor performance moving into a tie for 24th with her 25.63 time.
 
Isaac and Bansbach also scored Top-5 finishes in the 60 meters, with Isaac taking third with a time of 7.99, another regional qualifying time, while Bansbach scored a fourth-place finish with a regional qualifying time of 8.01. While Bell added a Top-5 finish in the 400 meters, clocking in at 59.33, good for second place and another regional qualifying time.
 
In the 3000 meters, Morgan Bremer paced UR with a fifth-place finish, clocking in with a personal-best 10:58.63, while Alicia Lawson (11:05.06, 7th) and Alyssa Horng (11:16.32, 10th) joined the graduate student in the top 10.
 
Over in the field events, Gillian Reeder and Alyssa Hoogs each notched Top-5 finishes, with Reeder leading the Yellowjackets in the weight throw at 14.50m, good for fifth and a regional qualifying score.
 
Hoogs scored a personal-best 5.29m jump in the long jump, good for fourth and a regional qualifying jump, while Ashleigh Barrett added a season's best 5.23m, finishing seventh.
 
Three more Yellowjackets joined Reeder in the top 11 of the weight throw, with Vanessa Wish finishing sixth with a throw of 13.91m, Livia Ilasz coming in eighth with a throw of 13.68m, and Deziree Garrick rounding out the top 11 with a 12.73m throw.
 
In the shot put, Cora Rose led Rochester with a 10.88m throw, good for 9th, while Garrick finished 10th at 10.61m.
 
Sab Lin paced UR in the mile with a 5:30.87 time, good for 16th, while Ellie Ponko finished right behind Lin at 5:31.20 (17th).
 
Rochester next competes in the 2022-23 Liberty League Indoor Championships, hosted by RIT, beginning on Friday, Feb. 24 at 11:45 a.m. in Henrietta, NY.
