Isaac Scores 400m Title, UR Finishes Second at AARTFC Meet

NEW YORK, NY – Four 'Jackets turned in new personal bests, including Kate Isaac, who took home a first-place finish in the 400 meters, as University of Rochester women's track & field finished second out of 40 competing teams at the All-Atlantic Region Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at The Armory.
 
Isaac paced three Yellowjackets in the top 10 of the 400 meters, with Isaac and Megan Bell leading the pack with first and second-place finishes. Isaac came in with a new pr of 57.71, a Top-30 time in NCAA Division III this year, while Bell scored second place with a time of 58:02, a new PR and currently a Top-40 time in DIII.
 
Kristin Hardy joined the duo in the Top 10, with an eighth-place finish and a time of 58.94.
 
Susan Bansbach and Rochester's 4x200 relay team also added Top-3 finishes, with Basbach setting a new personal best in the 200 meters, clocking in at 25.25, while UR's 4x200 relay of Isaac, Bansbach, Hardy and Bell came in third, just 0.11 seconds shy of the program record at 1:42.81, and nearly 1.5 seconds better than the facility record, which was also broken by a trio of other schools.
 
Carissa Minarovich rounded out UR's five competitors in the track events on Saturday, running a 2:23.38 time in the 800 meters, good for 23rd.
 
Over in the field events, Gillian Reeder placed eighth in the weight throw with a 15.93m throw, while Cora Rose and Alyssa Hoogs paced UR's four competitors in the triple jump, with a new personal best 11.15m jump for Rose, and an 11.04m jump for Hoogs, good for 7th and 8th, respectively.
 
SUNY Geneseo took home the regional title, with the 'Jackets in second and Rowan rounding out the top three.
 
The Yellowjackets NCAA qualifiers will next compete at the 2022-23 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, AL, beginning on Friday, March 10, with the championship qualifiers to be revealed in an NCAA.com press release on Sunday, March 5 by 7:00 p.m. ET.
