BROCKPORT, NY – University of Rochester women's track & field multi-event competitors got the SUNY Brockport Outdoor Multi & Invitational started on Saturday afternoon with the first four events of the Heptathlon at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium.
 
Through the first four events of the Heptathlon, Ashley Heffernan sits atop the leaderboard, leading nine competitors with 2,675 points, while Iva Savic sits in fifth with 1,952 points and Julia Largett is seventh heading into day two with 1,710 points.
 
Heffernan scored three Top-4 finishes across the first four Heptathlon events, the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200 meters, pacing the Yellowjackets' three competitors across all four events.
 
Heffernan tallied two first-place finishes in the 100m hurdles, clocking in at 14.96s, and the 200m, coming in with a personal best time of 25.13. The junior also finished tied for second in the high jump with a jump of 1.41m, and fourth in the shot put with a throw of 8.47m. Heffernan's 100m hurdles and 200m times both also hit the All-Atlantic Region (AARTFC) qualifying marks.
 
Savic's best finish of the day came in the high jump, tying for second with a personal-best jump of 1.41m. Savic also came in fourth in the 100m hurdles (17.36), sixth in the 200m with a personal-best 29.30s sprint, and eighth in the shot put with a throw of 7.10m.
 
Largett finished eighth in both the 100m hurdles (18.78) and high jump (1.26m), before moving up to seventh in the shot put with a throw of 7.45m, and third in the 200m with a personal best time of 28.84.
 
Day two of the Brockport Outdoor Multi & Invitational gets underway on Saturday, April 15, beginning with the decathlon 110m hurdles and the heptathlon long jump at 9:00 a.m.
