Four Yellowjackets from the University of Rochester women's lacrosse team earned All-Liberty League honors, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Abbey Smith was named First-Team All-Liberty League, while
Grace Crochiere,
Alyssa Gorny and
Emma Little garnered Honorable Mention honors. UR's four selections were the program's most since 2015.

The Yellowjackets wrapped up the 2023 campaign with a 9-8 (4-6 LL) record, tied for the third-most wins in program history. Rochester went 6-1 at home, topping league foes Vassar, Clarkson and Bard, while setting records for the most points and assists in a single season in program history.

First Team:
Abbey Smith (JR, D, Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Mendon) – 1st All-LL honor; Smith started every game on defense for the Yellowjackets, leading UR in caused turnovers with 28 and finishing second on the team with 35 groundballs. Smith's 28 caused turnovers ranked third in the conference and are also tied for the third-most in a season in program history, as the junior helped lead a Rochester defense that ranked fifth in the conference. The junior defender picked up multiple groundballs in 11 out of 17 games, and caused multiple turnovers in seven games, causing 3+ turnovers in four seperate games. Smith's best game of the season came against Vassar, when the Pittsford, NY native tied the program record with six caused turnovers, adding five ground balls in UR's 12-11 win over the Brewers.

Honorable Mention:
Grace Crochiere (JR, M, Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Regional) – 2nd All-LL honor (2021 HM); Crochiere was one of UR's most impactful players all across the field, seeing action both offensively and defensively for the 'Jackets. Offensively, Crochiere scored 20 goals on 47 shots, adding three assists and 56 draw controls, tied for second on the team, while defensively, the junior led the 'Jackets with 41 groundballs and forced 20 turnovers, the third-most on the squad. Crochiere's 56 draw controls also tied for the fourth-most in a season in program history, while the Wilbraham, MA native ranked in the top 10 of the conference in both ground balls and caused turnovers. Crochiere's best performance of the season came against Clarkson on April 15, as the junior scored five goals and added three groundballs and two caused turnovers in a crucial Liberty League win.
Alyssa Gorny (FY, A, Ellicott City, MD/Howard) – 1st All-LL honor; Gorny started every game this season for the Yellowjackets, leading Rochester with 45 goals on 91 shots (72 on goal), while ranking third on the team with 13 assists, fourth in draw controls (19) and seventh in caused turnovers (10) and groundballs (17). The Ellicott City, MD native twice earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors this season and ranks ninth in the conference in goals and seventh in goals per game. Gorny scored multiple goals in 13 of Rochester's 17 games this season, tallying 5+ goals four times, including in conference wins against Clarkson and RIT. In conference play, Gorny turned it up a notch, improving both her shot and shot-on-goal pct., while scoring 27 of her 45 goals against league foes. Gorny's best game of the year came against SUNY Oneonta, as the first-year tallied a season-high seven points, six goals and an assist, in a 21-14 Yellowjacket win.

Emma Little (SR, M, Rochester, NY/Brighton) – 2nd All-LL honor (2022 HM); Little played a key role both offensively and defensive for the Yellowjackets, tallying 20 goals and six assists on 56 shots, a team-high 57 draw controls, 28 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers. The senior started every game in the 'Jackets midfield and was one more UR's most consistent draw control specialists in conference play, recording 33-of-57 against Liberty League foes. Little ranked sixth in the conference in caused turnovers, while the Rochester native's 57 draw controls are the third-most in a single season in program history. Little will also graduate with the fourth-most draw controls (141) in program history and tied for the fifth-most (9) in a single game. Little tallied six multi-goal games and four games of 5+ draw controls, including a two-goal, nine-draw control performance against SUNY Oneonta, in which the senior also added four groundballs, an assist and a caused turnover in a 21-14 win.
