University of Rochester women's lacrosse senior attacker Alyssa Gorny and junior defender Jenna Ufberg received Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Empire Region honors, as announced by IWLCA on Friday.

Gorny received First-Team All-Empire Region accolades, while Ufberg was selected to the All-Empire Region Second Team. The pair are the Yellowjackets' first All-Region selections since Abbey Smith earned Second-Team All-Empire Region honors in 2023.

The Liberty League Attacker of the Year and a First-Team All-Liberty League selection, Gorny had a sensational senior season for the 'Jackets, leading URochester in nearly every offensive statistical category. Appearing in and starting all 18 games, Gorny tallied 65 goals and 23 assists for a total of 88 points on 122 shots, 100 of which were on goal. The Ellicott City, MD native also added four game-winning tallies and led the 'Jackets with 79 draw controls, and added 32 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers.

Statistically, Gorny ranked in 10 different categories in the Empire Region, ranking sixth in goals, seventh in points and 15th in draw controls per game, in addition to ranking nationally in NCAA Division III in 11 categories, including top 75 in goals (39th) and points (53rd).

The senior scored at least one goal in every game this season, and tallied at least two points in all but one, with a season-high nine-point game (5 Gs, 4 As) in a 13-11 win over SUNY Geneseo on March 28. Gorny also had eight five-goal games and notched a draw control in every contest, including a career-high nine vs. Skidmore on April 17.

Ufberg, a First-Team All-Liberty League selection, was one of Rochester's top defenders this season, appearing in and starting all 18 games and consistently wreaking havoc with her physical play. Defensively, Ufberg tallied a team-high 53 ground balls and 34 caused turnovers, while adding one assist offensively. The Bala Cynwyd, PA native's 34 caused turnovers set a new, single-season record, while her 53 ground balls tied for the fourth-most in a single season in program history.

Regionally, Ufberg ranked in the top 25 in both ground balls and caused turnovers per game, as well as in the top-200 nationally in both categories. The junior had at least one caused turnover in all but three games, and notched at least one ground ball in every contest for the Yellowjackets this season.

Ufberg's best performance came in the 'Jackets' 14-12 win over St. Lawrence on March 14, in which the junior set a new single-game record with seven caused turnovers, and added a season-high eight ground balls, also a career high. Ufberg added another 5+ caused turnovers in a win over SUNY Geneseo on March 28 and picked up five ground balls in a win over RIT on April 8.

Gorny and Ufberg are two of 256 student-athletes across Division III who were selected to one of the All-Region teams for 2026 and are now eligible to be named to the IWLCA All-America teams. The IWLCA will announce the 2026 IWLCA Division III All-Americans on May 22.
