SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The University of Rochester rowing team finished off its fall semester head racing schedule on Saturday, competing at the Head of the Fish Regatta along Fish Creek.
Overall, the Yellowjackets had eight entries across six different events on the day, ranging from doubles and pairs, up to several eight's that were in action.
UR's highest finishing entry came in the morning racing, as the Yellowjacket pairs boat finished fifth of 13 teams, clocking in with a time of 14:37.99.
Also in the early racing on Saturday, UR had two doubles entered in the competition. The A boat finished ninth of 20 teams in 14:59.85, while the B squad finished 18th overall in 16:36.76.
Later in the day, the varsity eight took to the course and placed tenth of 15 entries with a 12:29.08 time. In the next race, the 2nd varsity eight earned a 17th place result in its competition, traveling the course in 13:51.36.
Rochester had two boats entered in the collegiate fours race, with the 'B' entry finishing 24th (14:44.90) and the 'A' entry crossing the finish in 27th (14:52.57).
Wrapping up the days action was the novice eight, with UR's team finishing in ninth place among 20 schools. Its time was 14:51.87 over the course.
The Yellowjackets next compete in a dual against RIT on November 9, closing out its overall fall racing schedule.
