As we enter the latter part of February, spring sports are starting to get underway, with the University of Rochester lacrosse team set open its season on February 21. The Yellowjackets kick off a 17-game slate with a road game at SUNY Oneonta starting at 3 pm.

Rochester enters its 3rd season under Head Coach Carly Ritchlin, coming off a 9-8 (4-6 LL) campaign that proved to be Rochester's first above .500 year since 2017. UR piled up one All-Region honor, four All-Liberty League accolades and had one Academic All-American.

Assisting Ritchlin on the sidelines will be Megan Henderson who is in her second season with the Yellowjackets. The rest of the coaching staff is made up of volunteer assistant coaches Maggie Rosaschi, Lucy Haggerty and Angela Paris.

After the opening day matchup, Rochester squares off with another SUNYAC opponent on February 24, playing a road tilt at SUNY Brockport starting at noon.

UR's home opener is set for Friday, March 1 at 4 pm, with perennial New York power St. John Fisher University coming to Fauver Stadium.

Over spring break week, the Yellowjackets travel south, playing at Stevenson University on March 9 before matching up with Allegheny College on the way back to Rochester. The contest with the Gators is set for March 11.

Liberty League conference play begins on March 22, with Rochester entertaining Rensselaer at 4 pm. The following day, Skidmore College visits the River Campus for a 2 pm matchup. UR's three-game league homestand continues on March 27, with Ithaca playing the 'Jackets on Fauver Stadium's turf.

To close out March, UR heads to conference rival Clarkson on the 30th. The next weekend, the Yellowjackets travel downstate, taking on Vassar (April 5) and Bard (April 6) in Liberty League matchups.

Rochester follows with a five-game home stand, starting on April 10 with crosstown rival RIT. St. Lawrence comes to the River Campus on April 13.

A non-conference, midweek matchup with Hamilton College is set for April 17, before UR hosts William Smith in the final home conference game of the year on April 20.

The Fauver Stadium regular season finale is set for April 23 at 4 pm, with Nazareth University serving as the opponent in the non-conference battle.

Rochester wraps up its regular season with a Liberty League road contest at Union College on April 27.

Should the 'Jackets reach it, the 2024 Liberty League Tournament will feature the top-7 teams in the conference standings. The first round is set for Tuesday April 30, with the semifinals and finals taking place on May 3-5.

The 2024 NCAA Division III women's lacrosse championship begins with first round matchups on May 11. The tournament concludes later in the month with semifinals and finals being held on May 25-26 at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Virginia.
