Four Picked as Liberty League Weekly Award Winners

Four athletes from the University of Rochester were selected by the Liberty League as Performers of the Week in their respective sports following competition over the weekend.
 
Senior Megan Bell received Women's Track Performer of the Week honors, senior Sean Hendricks was the Men's Track Performer of the Week and senior Manny Eribo earned the Men's Field Performer of the Week award. Additionally, sophomore Dhirren Rajarathinam was honored with the Squash Performer of the Week accolade.
 
Bell was UR's top runner, competing at the Nazareth Conference Challenge Cup on Saturday afternoon. The senior won first place in the 400 meters, setting a new meet record time of 56.77 seconds which is the current #4 time in NCAA Division III this season. Bell added another win later on in the 4x400 meter relay in which the Yellowjackets set another meet record, running 3:54.90, the current #5 time in Division III. The final event for Bell was the 4x200 meter relay which UR finished in 1:44.97, good for a runner-up finish. Overall, Rochester ended third in the overall team scoring at the meet and the Liberty League was runner-up in the combined conference scoring.
 
Hendricks turned in an event win for the Yellowjackets on Saturday at the Conference Challenge Cup, leading to UR claiming the team title the competition hosted at Nazareth. Hendricks' win came in the 800 meters, with the senior clocking in with an AARTFC qualifying time of 1:55.68. Currently, that time is #14 in NCAA Division III this season. Additionally, Hendricks ran on UR's fifth place 4x400 meter relay squad that crossed the finish in 3:29.67.
 
Eribo posted the second longest jump in UR school history in the long jump, finishing in second place among 40 jumpers at the Nazareth Conference Challenge Cup. Eribo's mark was a career-best 7.10 meters to currently rank #16 in NCAA Division III this season and qualify him for the AARTFC meet later this season. Additionally, Eribo finished 12th in the triple jump (12.42m) and was 21st in the 60 meters (7.25 seconds), helping UR and Liberty League to the team and conference titles at the competition.
 
Rajarathinam posted a 2-1 record over the weekend, competing at the College Squash Association Individual National Championships, reaching the Molloy East region championship match. The sophomore posted a pair of five-set wins during the first two rounds before being swept in the final against a tough first-year player from Trinity. Rajarathinam's wins came against players from Harvard and Virginia, two of the top-8 teams in the CSA this season.
