The College Sports Communicators (CSC) have announced the 2025 recipients for Academic All-District® honors in Division III men's soccer on Tuesday, with five individuals from the University of Rochester program being named.
The 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must have competed in at least 90 percent or must have started at least 66 percent of an institution's contests.
Rochester's five honorees who met the criteria are graduate student
Ben Ziegler, senior
Ashton Prescott, juniors
Alessio Cristanetti-Walker and
Milos Bisenic and sophomore
Johnny Makula. That group, along with the rest of the Yellowjackets helped Rochester finish the season with a 9-5-4 record overall and 3-3-1 mark in UAA play, ending fourth in what is annually one of the toughest conferences in Division III soccer.
Ziegler played every minute in goal for Rochester this season, logging 1,620 minutes while surrendering 25 goals in addition to making 53 total saves. The graduate student finished with a 1.39 goals against average and .679 save percentage while posting five clean sheets on the year, coming against Alfred, Oswego, Clarkson, NYU and Carnegie Mellon.
Academically, Ziegler is attending Rochester's Simon Business School, working towards his Master's degree in finance. He was an undergraduate student at Hamilton College and graduated with a degrees in History and Hispanic Studies. On campus, he is a member of the Simon School Venture Fund and Simon Vision Consulting group. Away from school, he is currently interning for UBS as a Wealth Management Intern in the Rochester, NY office and has worked for the company previously in New York City in the Financial Risk Division.
On the field, Prescott logged playing time in all 18 games, making 13 starts in the midfield. The senior tallied one assist on the year, coming in the 'Jackets road win at Alvernia on September 6. Prescott finished the season with 988 minutes of playing time and five total shot attempts (4 shots on goal).
Away from soccer, the Tokyo, Japan, native is a computer science major at the University. He was named a University of Rochester Lysle 'Spike' Garnish Scholar earlier this fall and is receiving his third straight Academic All-District honor from the College Sports Communicators. Additionally, Prescott is a 3-time UAA All-Academic recipient and has previously worked at Dassault Systems Software as an Engineering Intern and spent time as a Nomura Summer Analyst, working as a Software Engineer.
Bisenic had a terrific 2025 campaign on the pitch, finishing as Rochester's leading-scorer with 17 points, coming on seven goals and three assists. He started 17 games and played in all 18 contests, ending with three game-winning goals, coming against York, #3 WashU and Carnegie Mellon. In 2025, Bisenic was a First Team All-UAA selection, earning his second straight All-Conference honor.
The junior is currently studying computer science on the River Campus and is minoring in business. He has received the International Baccalaureate Scholarship and earned the Schwartz Discover Grant. On campus, he has been doing research with Professor Anson Kahng and Jens Kipper along with a PhD student about enhancing coherence in large language models. He is a 2-time UAA All-Academic honoree and has received Dean's List honors in all four semesters at the University.
Cristanetti-Walker logged playing time in 17 games during the 2025 season, making seven starts. The junior finished with one goal, against SUNY Geneseo on September 24, while also compiling 13 shots overall and seven shots on goal across the season. He ended up logging a season-high 84 minutes in the season-opener against SUNY Cortland, while also playing over 60 minutes against Nazareth, Hobart and RIT.
Academically, Cristanetti-Walker is working towards his degree in international relations at Rochester, also studying business as a minor. He also received the International Baccalaureate Scholarship and has spent time with Professor Gerald Gamm as a research assistant in the political science department. This past summer, he participated in a commercial real estate internship in Wilmington, Delaware. Last year, Cristanetti-Walker received UAA All-Academic and CSC Academic All-District honors.
Makula ranked as Rochester's second-leading scorer in 2025, notching 12 points on five goals and two assists. The sophomore appeared in all 18 games for the Yellowjackets and made 16 started, recording 1,235 minutes played. He was the team-leader in total shots, firing 45 during the season, with 23 ending on goal. Makula finished with two game-winning goals, against St. John Fisher and NYU and was a second-team All-UAA honoree in 2025.
The Rochester, NY native is a finance major at the University, also minoring in computer science. He has received the Polish Self Support Organization Scholarship, recognizing his community involvement. Additionally, the sophomore earned his first UAA All-Academic honor earlier this fall semester.
Academic All-District selections will be evaluated by a sub-committee and advanced to the national, All-America ballot, to be voted on by CSC members within their respective divisions.
