BOSTON – Nine individuals representing the University of Rochester men's track and field team recorded multiple personal-best's and notched a pair of All-Atlantic Regional qualifying performances at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday afternoon at the BU Track & Tennis Center.

UR's final event of the day was the highlight, as Rochester's Gabe Thyne, Mitch Lienert, Greg Palma and Evan Bryant finished 16th in the 4x400 meter relay, posting a time of 3:18.70, ranking as the 26th fastest time in Division III so far this season. That time also was a regional qualifier for the Yellowjackets.

The other regional mark was hit by Brendan McCollum in the 800 meters, with the junior clocking in at 1:54.96, a new indoor personal-best performance. In the field of 240 competitors, most hailing from Division I schools, McCollum ranked 132nd.

Additional runners in the 800 meters were Jacob Bernd, who finished in 1:56.36 for a season-best time, Skye Crocker (1:57.22) and Sean Hendricks (2:09.10).

During the 200 meter invitational heats, senior P.J. London ranked 30th with a 22.40 second time. During the open 200 meters, Greg Palma clocked at 22.69 seconds, good for 60th of 146 runners in that event. Both were season-best times.

Rochester's last event featured Bryant running to 59th place (of 121) in the 400 meters. His time of 50.38 seconds established a new indoor personal-best for the sophomore.

This weekend, UR is running as a split squad, with much of the rest of the team competing at the Nazareth D3 Elite Invitational in the local Rochester-area later on Friday and Saturday.
