The University of Rochester men's track and field team secured two major awards for the indoor season, as the Liberty League announced the conference's season-ending awards on Thursday. Sophomore Emmett Hansen was named Men's Field Performer of the Year, while first-year Barack Abdallah was honored as the Men's Rookie of the Year.

In addition, URochester was honored with 20 total All-Conference accolades. The Yellowjackets had four First Team selections, seven Second Team honorees and nine Honorable Mention awards.

All-League honors are earned by top-3 finishers at the conference meet that took place in late February. First-place finishers are named First Team All-League, second-place finishers earn Second Team All-Conference, while third-place results garner Honorable Mention accolades. Major award winners are voted on by the league coaches.

For the indoor season, Hansen was the lone Yellowjacket men's athlete to compete at the NCAA Championships and ended up securing Second Team All-America honors with a 16th place result in the heptathlon. At nationals, the sophomore scored 4,863 points and set two new personal-bests across the 7-event heptathlon competition. Additionally this season, Hansen was named Liberty League Field Performer of the Meet at the conference championships when he won the heptathlon and also was seventh in the long jump and 13th in the pole vault. Hansen's qualifying performance for nationals of 4,932 points (converted score) also established a new Liberty League association record, and this season, he secured three Liberty League Field Performer of the Week awards.

To earn Rookie of the Year honors, Abdallah was the top short sprinter for the Yellowjacket men's squad in 2025-26 and has already etched his name in the URochester record books. The first-year set a new school record in the 60 meters, running 6.93 seconds in a runner-up finish at the Liberty League Championships. Abdallah also scored for UR in the 200 meters at the conference meet, placing seventh in 22.60 seconds. The first-year also competed at the AARTFC meet in both the 60 meters (17th) and 4x200 meter relay (7th) for the Yellowjackets. He was a two-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week this season and piled up ten total top-3 results during the year.
