Goodman Finishes 9th at USATF Indoor Championships

STATEN ISLAND, NY – University of Rochester senior Cole Goodman placed ninth in a loaded triple jump field at the 2025 United States Track & Field Indoor Championships on Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
 
In a field that featured four Olympians, Goodman placed ninth with a 15.35m leap, jumping out of the first position. Goodman hit 15.35m, his third-longest jump this season, on his first attempt, and sat in eighth following the first round of competition.
 
After a 15.04m leap on his second attempt, Goodman slid to ninth, while the senior faulted on his last attempt to finish the championships in ninth place.
 
James Carter took home first place in the event with a personal-best 16.88m leap on his final attempt, while Russell Robinson, ranked 18th in the men's triple jump, finished second, jumping 16.67m, and 15th-ranked Donald Scott of the New York Athletic Club came in third with a season-best 16.62m jump.
 
Goodman and the Yellowjackets next head to Ithaca, NY for the 2024-25 Liberty League Indoor Track & Field Championships, beginning on Friday, Feb. 28 at 11:45 a.m.
