Abby Gress was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 3 First-Team, as announced by D3hoops.com on Tuesday.

Gress earns her second D3hoops.com All-Region honor, following a third-team selection in 2023-24. A 2024-25 First-Team All-UAA selection, Gress led the Yellowjackets across all five major categories this season, averaging 17.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.5 blocks per game.

The St. James, NY native shot 41.9 percent from the floor, 29.9 percent from three and 77.5 percent from the free-throw line in a team-high 30.0 minutes per game, totaling 430 points, 186 rebounds, 72 assists, 40 steals and 13 blocks.

Gress started all 25 games for UR, and scored in double figures in all but three and notched four double-doubles, including just the third triple-double in program history with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists at William Smith on Nov. 26, 2024.

Regionally, Gress ranked sixth in Region III in field goals, seventh in points and field goal attempts, eighth in points per game and 14th in field-goal percentage. The graduate student also ranked 69th nationally in NCAA Division III in points per game, as well as 75th in field goal attempts and 91st in field goals.

Gress also had tremendous success against Region III foes on the court, tallying a career-high 30 points as well as eight rebounds, six assists and four steals in a win over Ithaca, as well as 23 points and nine rebounds in a win over SUNY Cortland.

In total in eight games against regional competition, Gress averaged a team-best 20.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, shooting 54.5 percent from the floor, 47.5 percent from three and 87.5 percent from the free-throw line in 28.1 minutes per game.

All-Region honorees will move onto consideration for D3hoops.com All-America teams, which will be released on March 22, at the national championship game.

Players are nominated for D3hoops.com All-Region honors by school's Sports Information Directors (SIDs). A total of 789 players were nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to several SIDs, as well as D3hoops.com staff and contributors, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region.
