The University of Rochester squash team secured two major awards and has seven All-Liberty League selections, following voting done by the league coaches, as announced by the Liberty League on Friday morning.

Senior
Yash Fadte was named the 2024-25 Liberty League Player of the Year and head coach
Matt Dukarm received Coaching Staff of the Year accolades. In addition, UR's top four on the ladder, Fadte,
Omar Zakaria,
Dhirren Rajarathinam and
Tom Whiteley were First Team All-League recipients. Senior's
Arnav Mandhana and
Jake Koeppel were picked to the Liberty League Second Team and first-year
Preston Wu was an Honorable Mention All-Liberty League choice.

For Fadte, the Player of the Year award is the second of his career, after receiving the recognition also in the 2022-23 campaign. This year, the senior also received the College Squash Association's Skillman Award, the highest honor a male squash player can receive in collegiate squash.

Dukarm is awarded his second straight Liberty League Coach of the Year award after guiding Rochester to its sixth straight Liberty League title and a berth into the College Squash Association Hoehn Cup. UR finished the season with a 10-9 record overall and ranked #17 in the CSA.

Player of the Year/1st Team:
Yash Fadte (SR, Vasco Da Gama, India/St. Joseph's Institute) – Fourth All-League award (2022, 2023, 2024 1st Team, 2023 Player of the Year); Fadte was Rochester's top player once again, playing in 17 dual matches at the top spot on the ladder. The senior Skillman Award winner was 12-7 overall on the season, posting wins over #1's from Dartmouth, Tufts, Western, SLU, Hobart and Franklin & Marshall, among others. Fadte also went 3-0 at the CSA Divisional Team Championships and was a participant in the Pool (A) Division at the CSA Individual Championships. The senior was a four-time Liberty League Performer of the Week this season.

1st Team:
Omar Zakaria (SR, Cairo, Egypt/Suffield Academy (CT)) – Third All-League award (2023 HM, 2024 1st Team); The senior co-captain appeared in all 19 dual matches and finished with a 12-9 record, matching for the team high in wins. Was UR's primary #2 player on the ladder, going 11-7 at that spot in the lineup. Ended the season on a 3-match win streak, going unbeaten in CSA Hoehn Cup play. Was selected to play in the CSA Individual National Championships, appearing in the Molloy (B Division) brackets. Had wins over players from Tufts, Western, Franklin & Marshall (twice) and MIT (twice).

Dhirren Rajarathinam (SO, Penang, Malaysia/Penang Free School) – Second All-League award (2024 1st Team/Rookie of the Year at Hobart); Posted solid numbers in his first season with the Yellowjackets, going 12-9 overall. Was 1-0 at number two and 9-8 at number three, his primary position in UR's order. Reached the finals of the CSA Individual Championship Molloy (B Division) bracket, posting wins over players from Harvard and Virginia in the tournament run. Went 2-0 in Liberty League play, helping the 'Jackets to the conference title and added two victories to his total during the CSA Hoehn Cup team tournament.

Tom Whiteley (SR, Instow, United Kingdom/West Buckland School) – First All-League award; Was a steady presence for Rochester at number four in the lineup during the 2024-25 season. The co-captain finished with a 9-10 record overall, going 2-0 at number three and 7-10 at number four. Posted six wins by a 3-0 sweep, including two at the Liberty League Championships. Earned victory at number four against 5th-ranked Virginia on Feb. 16, posting UR's only win in that match.

2nd Team:
Arnav Mandhana (SR, Mumbai, India/B.D. Somani International) – Second All-League award (2024 2nd Team); The senior played all throughout the middle of Rochester's order, ranging from number four through number seven during the year. Finished with a 9-10 overall record, going 2-0 at number four, 4-6 at number five, 2-1 at six and 1-3 at seven. Had wins in matches against players from Tufts, Western, St. Lawrence (twice), Amherst and MIT. Went 2-0 in Liberty League Tournament play and 4-0 against conference opponents throughout the entire season.

Jake Koeppel (SR, Boston, MA/Noble and Greenough) – Second All-League award (2022 HM); Battled through injuries in senior season, finishing with a 9-7 overall record, playing ladder positions five through seven. Primarily was UR's number six player, going 6-4 at that spot, also finishing 2-1 at five and 1-2 at seven. Had wins against Columbia, Franklin & Marshall, Amherst and MIT, with three of his wins on the season being 3-0 sweeps.

Honorable Mention:
Preston Wu (FY, Taipei, Taiwan/The Haverford School) – First All-League award; Emerged as a solid contributor at the back end of Rochester's lineup, playing primarily at number nine. Ended up with a 5-3 record in counting matches, also playing twice in #10 exhibition slot. Had key 5-set victory in UR's 5-4 upset over #13 Franklin & Marshall, winning the match-clinching point at number nine. Earned pair of wins at the Liberty League Tournament and also won twice at the CSA Hoehn Cup team tournament.
