Following voting conducted by the league coaches, three individuals from the University of Rochester men's tennis team combined for four All-University Athletic Association honors for the 2024-25 season.
First-year
Alan Wang received two honors, being named Second Team in doubles and Honorable Mention in singles, while senior
Krish Vennam and junior
Surya Rajamani each earned one award. Vennam was named Second Team in singles, while Rajamani received Second Team in doubles.
In 2024-25, the Yellowjackets finished with a 9-10 overall record, but succeeded in region matches, going 9-4. Rochester posted six shutout wins by 7-0 scores on the season, as well.
Wang ended his rookie campaign with a 11-9 record in singles and 7-13 record in doubles. The first-year was UR's #2 singles player in 14 total matches, going 7-7 in those contests. In doubles, he appeared in 18 matches, playing mostly first and second doubles, ending with a 7-11 record. Back in the fall, Wang reached the championship match of the B flight singles competition at the St. Lawrence Fall Classic, and then a few weeks later, reached the second round in singles at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships.
Vennam earns his fifth career All-UAA honor this season, compiling marks of 11-12 overall in singles and 5-9 in doubles. The senior was UR's #1 player all season long, finishing with a 6-10 record in dual match competition. Vennam also saw success in the fall tournament season, going 5-2 in singles play across UR's tournaments. That record included reaching the quarterfinals at the ITA Northeast Regional Championship in singles and the semifinals of the A flight singles bracket at the St. Lawrence Fall Classic. Vennam also was ranked regionally by the NCAA in the year-end rankings, sitting at #5 in singles across Region II.
For Rajamani, the junior captures his first career All-Association honor in doubles, pairing with Wang for a 7-9 overall record. That featured a 3-4 record at first doubles, 4-4 mark at second doubles and 0-1 record at third doubles. Rajamani added in four singles matches in 2024-25, going 2-2 in those contests. During the season, Rajamani helped earn doubles match wins against in-region opponents Nazareth, RIT, Union, Houghton, Oneonta, Oswego and Alfred, helping the 'Jackets earn victories in each of those contests.
