IWLCA Recognizes Women’s Lacrosse with Academic Honors

Eight members of the University of Rochester women's lacrosse team, as well as the team as a whole, earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), as announced by the association on Wednesday.
 
Seniors Erin Esposito and Gracie Giannettino and juniors Kassi Boehl, Nikki Cassara, Kiera Delaney, Alyssa Gorny, Lorelei King and Morgan Napolitano were named to the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll, while the team garnered IWLCA Academic Honor Squad accolades.
 
The Yellowjackets have been named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for every year of the award's existence, earning the honor for the 15th-straight year. This also marks the third-straight year and the fourth time in five years the 'Jackets placed five or more honorees on the IWLCA's Academic Honor Roll, with the 'Jackets eight Academic Squad Honorees being the 'Jackets' most since the honor's inception in 2009.
 
Both Esposito and Giannettino are repeat honorees, having earned the distinction in 2024, while Boehl, Cassara, Delaney, Gorny, King and Napolitano all qualified for the first time.
 
To qualify for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. IWLCA Academic Honor Squads must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
 
A total of 383 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA were named IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2024-25 academic year, while 1,286 student-athletes from 201 different institutions qualified for the Division III Academic Honor Roll.
