University of Rochester men's and women's track and field juniors
Eva Ciuffetelli and
Ashton Tokarski earned Liberty League Weekly Honors, as announced by the conference on Monday.
Â
Ciuffetelli received Liberty League Women's Track Performer of the Week accolades, while Tokarski was named the Liberty League Men's Field Performer of the Week.
Â
Ciuffetelli had a win and a runner-up finish for URochester, competing at the AARTFC Championships last weekend. The junior set a meet record and established a personal best in the 800 meters, winning the race in 2:11.07. That mark was quick enough to make the NCAA Championships, ranking 8th on the Division III performance list. Ciuffetelli also ran on UR's runner-up 4x400 meter relay squad that ran a time of 3:48.14, a time that was lower than the previous meet record and ended as the #17 time in Division III this season. URochester, as a team, finished in third place at the regional meet.
Â
Tokarski finished in third place in the heptathlon, setting a new personal-best score of 4,755 points at the All-Atlantic Regional Championships over the weekend. The junior was second in the field in three events (60M, long jump, high jump) and set new personal-best marks in both the 60 meters and pole vault, while competing in the seven-event competition for the second straight week.
