Rochester's other event win came in the decathlon, where Emmett Hansen beat out 14 decathletes with his 6,596-point score. Hansen's tally is a new personal-best mark and ranks 18th on the Outdoor Qualifying List. The sophomore opened his day with eighth and seventh-place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (16.56s) and (29.61m), before taking fifth in the pole vault (4.00m). Jack Maness and Ashton Tokarski also competed in the decathlon for the 'Jackets, with Maness finishing ninth, and Tokarski bowing out after an injury. Maness set new personal-best marks in three events on Thursday to rack up 5,770 points total, a new PR.

The senior finished 11th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.41 seconds, a new PR, and then tallied back-to-back first-place results in the discus (32.39m) and pole vault (4.50m), setting new high marks in both events. Maness then wrapped up the decathlon with a fifth-place finish in the javelin (38.97m) and a ninth-place run in the 1,500 meters (5:13.17) to finish ninth overall.
