Four members of the University of Rochester men's and women's track and field program received weekly praise from the Liberty League, as announced by the league on Monday.

Nora Chen received Liberty League Women's Track Performer of the Week honors, while first-year
Sam Mermelstein was named the Liberty League Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week. On the men's side,
Emmett Hansen secured Men's Field Performer of the Week accolades, while first-year
Austin Skeete was selected as the Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Chen earned three top-3 finishes at the All-Atlantic Regional Outdoor Championships last week, helping the Yellowjackets to their first-ever regional meet title. The junior finished first in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.81, added a runner-up finish in the 4x400 meter relay in 3:47.40, and also ended third in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking in at 14.65 seconds (14.37-second prelim time). Chen and the relay finished the season #22 on the Division III performance list (#16 after duplicates), to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships, with the junior also qualified in the two hurdle events. URochester as a team ranked first among 51 teams that scored at the meet with 70 points.

Hansen earned an event win in the decathlon for the Yellowjackets at last week's All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Championships, claiming the top spot with a new personal-best score of 6,596 points. That total moved him up to #19 on the Division III performance list, booking a spot at the NCAA Division III Championships this coming week. Over the week, Hansen set new personal bests in four individual events, including the long jump, high jump, 400 meters and 1500 meters. As a team, URochester placed fifth at the meet with 47.5 total points.

Mermelstein competed in two events at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships last week and helped the Yellowjackets secure their first-ever team title at the regional event. The rookie competed individually in the 5000 meters, running to a time of 18:19.12, and later on ended in fourth as part of URochester's 4x800 meter relay team to close out the meet. In the 4x800 meters, the team finished in 9:38.17, with that performance capping off the team title. UR as a team ended with 70 points, more than 20 points ahead of the runner-up institution.

Skeete earned an event win in the 1500 meters to cap his rookie season with Rochester at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships last week. His time was a season-best (by six seconds) of 3:49.39, ending the regular season at #33 on the NCAA Division III performance list, and fourth-best in the Liberty League this season. Skeete's win aided Rochester as a team to a top-5 finish in the team standings, ranking fifth overall with 47.5 points.
